It was about that time for an album now… when it all comes together as one.

Salzburg born & bred Stefan Obermaier might still seem quite the youngster, yet his sound and approach was always delightfully mature from day one. No matter if his impeccable trademark beats & production over the years appeared as irresistibly laid back, shot-from-the-hip downtempo rollers or rather in the sparkling mirror ball shape of sly and techy deep house fireballs: they always conjured up that certain mojo, no matter if channeling either the sofa, the beach or the dancefloor. The man’s got himself a sound.

After a string of highly effective, rather punchy club track releases via his own label imprint Drift Recordings, prestigious remix work and many many DJ-gigs all over Europe, what you are bathing your eardrums in now represents Stefan Obermaier on all levels/in all aspects in the present moment. In the zone.

From the funked up futuredisco energy boost of opening track “This Vibe” via even more dub infused, sun drenched goodness by the likes of “Get Up”, “A La Dub”, ”Champion Sound” and “Interstylistic” to uptempo and even peak time power (“Rococo”, “Moon”) and back again - it”s all about that vibe. As well as the zone it’s created in. The Obermaier zone, to be exact.

That zone includes quite a bit of musicianship as well. Apart from two unique vocal contributions (by Don Abi and Sista Sadie), all instruments & sounds come courtesy of the man himself. Tracks like the travel inspired “Fuji” and especially the hauntingly beautiful, rather ambient closing title “Nachtspaziergang” with its highly vibrational, balladesque piano work showcase the trademark sound of a man who only just started to be his higher self. And that usually happens when it all comes together… as one. In the zone. With that vibe. It”s a joyful one!
